Before work starts: Permits, inspections, utility interconnection and HOA rules apply to this work. Your contractor handles permits, but following the rules is on you and your contractor, not HomeBackupPros. Ask for proof of insurance, and ask your own agent how new equipment affects your homeowners policy. Details

Questions

How do I know which utility I have?

It is printed at the top of your electric bill. Many areas have more than one provider, sometimes on the same road, so go by the bill rather than your town name.

Can I switch power companies?

Generally no. In North Carolina your provider is set by where you live. What you can change is how much you buy from them, with solar, a battery or better efficiency.
