HomeBackupPros is operated by HomeBackupPros, a North Carolina trust, acting by its trustee. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to connect customers with contractors, we encrypt personal details, and we do not sell your information.
What we collect
- Customers: email address, name, optional phone number, street address and ZIP code for the job, job details, notes and photos.
- Contractors: email address, name, optional phone and business name, ZIP code and travel radius, services and equipment, insurance details and certificates you upload.
- Everyone: sign-in times, quotes, ratings, and basic technical data such as a scrambled version of your IP address used to stop abuse.
How we use it
To run the marketplace: showing jobs to nearby contractors, delivering quotes, sharing contact details when a quote is accepted, sending sign-in links and status emails, collecting ratings, preventing fraud, and keeping the site secure. Our emails may include a short sponsored message at the bottom.
Who sees what
Before a quote is accepted, contractors see a job's ZIP code, city, services, rough size, dates, notes and photos. We strip location data from photos in your browser before they upload. Names, street addresses, phone numbers and email addresses are shared only between a customer and the contractor whose quote they accepted.
We use service providers to host the site, store files and send email. They process data only on our instructions. We may share information if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety. We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising trackers.
Some links on the site and in our emails are affiliate or partner links. When you click one, we count the click without your name or email, and you go to another company's site, which has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies. We do not share your personal information with affiliate partners. See our affiliate disclosure.
How we protect it
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses and job notes are encrypted in our database. Access to admin tools is limited and logged.
How long we keep it
Job details and addresses are deleted 365 days after a request closes. Security logs are kept for up to three years. You can ask us to delete your account sooner by emailing help@homebackuppros.com.
Cookies
We use a sign-in cookie so you stay signed in, and a referral cookie for 30 days if you arrive through someone's referral link. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. Partner sites you visit through an affiliate link may set their own.
Your choices
You can update your details from your account, turn off job emails if you are a contractor, and ask us for a copy of your information or to delete it. Email help@homebackuppros.com.
Children
HomeBackupPros is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email.

Paid features
Paid features are sold by a licensed seller named on the terms of sale shown before you pay. If you buy one, your name, email, the feature you bought and your payment details go to that seller and its card processor to complete the sale, issue receipts and handle refunds.
